Hotel dates back to 1888 when the Austrian brewery owner Reininghaus built a sanatorium “Dr. Schwarz”, which was shortly renamed to “Quisisana”. In addition to this being the oldest sanatorium in Opatija, which was at that time a prominent thermal, the 1st pharmacy in Opatija was also situated there.
