The hotel is situated on the resort established by the President of E.N.I., Enrico Mattei. The hotel was constructed from 1954 to 1962 and was planned by the creative flair of the architect Edoardo Gellner, one of the fathers of present-day Italian architecture. Over new years the complex has undergone big renewal in accordance with the original plans, maintaining the singularly distinctive aspects primarily applied by architect Gellner.
